the uncalled-for career advisory

"information wants to be free", they say.

well so does every convicted felon out there. i'm sure martha stewart wants martha stewart to be free, but do YOU want that monster out of the slammer? see what i mean?

here's an example.

first thing at office this morning:

my immediate superior, whom i sit back-to-back with, swiveled around in his chair and addressed me.
"guess what i dreamt about last night?"
"tell me", i said, pretending to adjust my chair but in fact trying to find an 'eject' button.
"you and me quit our jobs here to become firemen."

see what i mean? some information just should be left to rot in a dungeon. to repent. some information just has no place in civilized society.

ok, there's no gag here,

ok, there's no gag here, i just find this awesomely cool:
Catthe gayer-anderson cat (stop giggling) is a representation of the egyptian goddess bastet. you can't see it too well in this photo but she is wearing a really rocking silver wedjat amulet. 2600 years young, her style has always been remarkably ahead of her time. few people know this, but she has drilled the gold for her piercings out of the ground all by herself! she enjoys pouncing and sashimi.

known side effects

you know that warning label a lot of drugs have, "Do not operate heavy machinery while taking this medication"? I always thought it's a stupid warning and it's not like anybody in the fucking history of oh.

WEIRDpropaganda.jpg

visited tate modern last weekend. pretty much the coolest thing there was a room full of soviet propaganda posters--fantastic stuff. you weren't supposed to take pictures there and the attendants kept busting me for flipping out the ol' camphone so i don't have any of them documented. luckily i have this ad, from the london tube, that comes pretty fucking close.
